Michelle MacLaren no longer directing Wonder Woman
Warner Brothers’ Wonder Woman adaptation has suffered something of a setback this morning, with THR reporting that director Michelle MacLaren has dropped out of the project.
The report cites an official statement from the studio announcing the director’s departure: “ Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together.”
Ah, the dreaded “creative differences”. At this stage, it remains unclear just what was at the root of these issues, but in any case the hunt is now on for a replacement to come aboard and fill MacLaren’s shoes ahead of the project’s proposed autumn start date.
Starring Gal Gadot as the titular heroine, Wonder Woman will open in the US on 23 June 2017. A UK date has yet to be confirmed.
