Michelle Williams journeys to Shutter Island
Marty Scorsese keeps loading his boat…
Those directors and their decision to drip-feed casting info, eh? Well, okay, so it’s not always the directors’ fault – actors’ managers and agents often tend to leak info about their clients’ roles to help negotiations, but we think this one is all Marty Scorsese.
He’s added Michelle Williams to the cast of Shutter Island, and she’ll be playing the wife of US Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio). Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley are already on board for the 1950s-set Dennis Lehane adaptation, which finds Daniels travelling to the titular island to track down a multiple murderess who absconds from a hospital for the criminally insane.
Sadly for him, he walks into the mess of conspiracy and bad memories, as his missus was killed by one of the asylum’s inhabitants. It’ll be a solid gold comedy masterpiece! Well, probably not, but we’ve high hopes for this new Marty movie.
