Microsoft offers deal on Gamertag changes
Deal of the Week gives Gold members a 30 percent discount on a new identity
Good news for all the ButtMuncher69s, NicklebackFan2005s and TeamEdwards of the Xbox LIVE world. All week long, Microsoft is giving Gold members the opportunity to change their gamertags for just 560 Microsoft Points per swap, a 30 percent discount off the standard name adjustment fee.

The bargain is part of Microsoft's Deal of the Week promotion. To partake, members are instructed to access the My Xbox panel on Xbox LIVE, select 'Change Gamertag' and type out a new handle or ask for suggestions. Once the change has been made, Xbox LIVE handles the task of updating the new gamertag on all related games and friend lists.
At the reduced price of 560 MPs (US$7.00), it still seems like and extraordinary expensive charge to swap around a few letters and change a few lists. However, if you've hankering to kill your oh-so-funny-at-the-time BrokebackMountaineer handle, now would be the best time to do it. Don't drag your heels about it either, because the deal expires August 8th.
