Mike Patton returning as the voice of evil in The Darkness II
Starbreeze Studios' sequel to feature the return of Faith No More frontman
2K Games has confirmed that veteran voice actor and Faith No More rock 'n roller Mike Patton will be reprising his role as 'The Darkness' in Starbreeze Studios' supernatural sequel, the Darkness II.
“It feels really good to be the bad guy, and The Darkness is as bad as it gets,” said Mike Patton in today's announcement. “I’ve read through the script and Jackie is going to be a brutally tortured soul. I’m looking forward to making his life a living hell.”
Patton's distinct voice will feature heavy in the sequel which finds Jackie Estacado once again forced to utilize the demonic powers of The Darkness to hold his own in an internal war between rival mob families. His other game credits include voice work as the Anger Sphere in Portal 2, Nathan Spencer in Bionic Commando and one of the Infected in Left 4 Dead. His bands, Faith No More, Mr. Bungle and Peeping Tom have also been featured in numerous movies and college dorm parties.
The Darkness II is expected for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this fall.
