Knowing how to trade in Minecraft Dungeons is useful information if you're playing with one or more friends, as it means you can exchange weapons and other handy items you may not have a use for yourself to share the wealth with your squad. For a while this sort of trade wasn't possible, but that has all changed thanks to the arrival of the Gift Wrapper, though their services have a number of restrictions and come at a price. Still, it's great that the option is now there, so if you want to start gifting then here's what you need to know about trading in Minecraft Dungeons.

At launch, being able to trade with friends in Minecraft Dungeons was just a pipe dream, as there was no functionality available to make that happen so everyone was stuck with just their own items. However, that all changed with an update that added the Gift Wrapper to your Minecraft Dungeons camp, who is a vendor specifically for the purpose of trading items among friends. However, there are several caveats you need to be aware of before using this service, so bear the following information in mind before you trade.

First, you need to be actively playing with a friend in the same session before the option to trade becomes available through the Gift Wrapper, as you can't just send items off to people, so follow the process of how to invite friends to Minecraft Dungeon to set that up. Access the Gift Wrapper when you're in a session with someone else, and you can select them before scrolling through your list of items and picking one to send. This will cost you a certain amount of emeralds, which is shown on the screen, so this system doesn't run for free.

Other things you need to consider before sending an item are that any enchantments you've applied will be removed, with the corresponding enchantment points being refunded to you so at least they aren't lost. Also, the power level of the item you send will be recalculated to match the receiver's recommended power level, so you can't instantly overpower a lower level player with high-end equipment. And finally, you can only send one item at a time, after which you'll need to complete a mission before another one can be sent.
