Microsoft has confirmed plans to release a retail version of Minecraft in the UK on June 28. A physical edition of the game is also set for a delayed release in the States on June 4, having originally been scheduled to launch in April. UK pricing details weren’t confirmed, but GameStop is listing the US version for $19.99, which is equivalent to the XBLA edition's price tag. The UK release will ship with a 48-hour Xbox Live Gold subscription.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition sales have surpassed six million copies since the title’s release last May, helping make it the most purchased XBLA game of 2012. Following the expiration of Microsoft’s timed exclusivity deal for Minecraft on consoles, Mojang has said it’s likely to consider releasing the game on PlayStation platforms, although an appearance on Wii U has been labelled “very unlikely".
