Modern Warfare 2 and Halo 3 still top Xbox Live

An entrenched observer of gaming culture might think that Modern Warfare, and by extension, Call of Duty,is over. We'reembeddedin communities of hardcore gamers who, if they'll evenbother to acknowledge its existence, have only venom to spew at the franchise. They cite MW2's lack of balance, glitches, the exodus from Infinity Ward, and... just Activision, asdetractors. And don't even bother talking about Halo 3, that old, withered dinosaur.

But step back and look at what people are actually playing, andthe story is entirely different. This morning,Major Nelson posted a chartof the most played (by unique users) games on Xbox Live for the week of March 29th. Modern Warfare 2 tops it, followed by Halo 3. Battlefield: Bad Company 2, a game being heralded by fans as the most superiorest new FPS on the market, comes in at three. It's notexactly surprising, but still,balls.
