Modern Warfare 3 trailer introduces us to Spec Ops Survival mode
Call of Duty's take on Horde detailed in new video
With Modern Warfare 3 is just a few months away, Activision and Infinity Ward have been pretty short on details for the hotly anticipated sequel (perhaps in response to leaks). In spite of that, today the devs took the lid off the new addition to Spec Ops mode titled Survival. It takes the spirit of the wave-based, outlast the AI, teamwork-heavy modes we’ve been seeing since Horde in Gears of War 2 popularized them, and adds a CoD-twist, mainly involving the purchasing of perks and ammo. Watch the trailer to see it in action…
As the trailer shows, you won’t just be defending yourself from average operatives that disagree with you ideologically, you’ll also be facing helicopters and exploding dogs. To top it all off you fight a heavily-armored combatant, onethat reminds us of the opening to Lethal Weapon 4. We’ll get more details on that mode and multiplayer in general at the CoD convention Activision is hosting in LA September 2nd.
