Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Monster Guide
Molten Tigrex
Element: None
Ailment: Blastblight
Weakness: Water, Fire
Injured Sign: None
Breakable Spots: Head, Claws x2, Tail
Tips: Molten Tigrex is much larger than his counterparts. His increased size makes it much more difficult to dodge his rampaging charges. In addition to plowing you over and his devastating frontal sonic blasts, red bomb clouds will on occasion float around Molten Tigrex. If you touch these clouds, you will be afflicted by Blastblight, and will have to roll three times to remove the affliction before it explodes. Make sure your armour is at least 600 before fighting this brute.
Shah Dalamadur
Element: None
Ailment: Paralysis
Weakness: Dragon, Thunder, Ice
Injured Sign: His Chest will become Brighter
Breakable Spots: Head 2x, Back, Legs, Chest 2x, Tail
Tips: Shah Dalamadur is very similar to his regular counterpart, only harder hitting. Since Shah Dalamadur is so powerful, we recommend becoming adept at dodging regular Dalamadur’s ultimate sweeping dragonbreath, as being hit with Shah Dalamadur’s sweeping breath can one shot you from full HP. The armour, it does nothing!
Kirin
Element: Thunder
Ailment: Paralysis
Weakness: Fire, Water
Injured Sign: None
Breakable Spots: Horn
Tips: Do not be fooled by Kirin’s majestic visage. Kirin’s hide is tough, and he can trample you if you stay close for too long. Kirin will spend most of his time fabulously prancing forward, leaving thunder blasts in his wake. Kirin will also summon a targeted paralysis blast if you linger in front of him still for too long. Because of this, fighting him will most likely resemble a traditional jousting match, with you and Kirin running at each other and trading blows with horn and weapon. When Kirin is knocked over, take the time to destroy his horn. Kirin is the smallest elder dragon in the game, so he cannot be caught in a trap.
White Monoblos
Element: None
Ailment: None
Weakness: Thunder
Injured Sign: Limping
Breakable Spots: Head, Fins, Tail (Break, not cut)
Tips: White Monoblos has a harder carapace than his counterpart, so you may find your attacks deflecting more often. Otherwise, the fight is very similar to regular Monoblos, where he favours direct charges and rushes you from underneath the sand. Keep your weapon at its maximum sharpness to avoid having your blows deflected off his thick hide.
Oroshi Kirin
Element: Ice
Ailment: Iceblight, Severe Iceblight
Weakness: Fire, Water
Injured Sign: None
Breakable Spots: Horn
Tips: Oroshi Kirin is a darker, colder version of Kirin. His command of ice may leave you frozen in awe of his beauty. Like fighting regular Kirin, joust with Oroshi Kirin him to keep him at a safe distance and wail on his head and horn when he is knocked over.
Raging Brachydios
Element: None
Ailment: Blastblight
Weakness: Water
Injured Sign: Limping
Breakable Spots: Fists, Horn, Tail
Tips: Raging Brachydios has the complete move set of regular Brachydios, in addition to being much larger and constantly shielded by bomb slime. Avoid attacking Raging Brachydios on the areas of his body that are glowing red, or you will find yourself setting off big ol’ explosions, hurting anyone unlucky enough to be near. Bring Barrel Bombs to use on him when he gets knocked over, so you don’t have to get near his nasty exploding parts. When playing with friends, stock up on Lifepowders and Dust of Life in case they accidentally whack a bomb. Raging Brachydios’ slime turns orange when he’s enraged, so be wary.
