More True Blood Season Five Spoilers

Blimey, the last season has only just finished. But it certainly left fans with a lot of questions

Final warning… spoilers ahead. Only proceed if you’ve seen all of season four or you don’t care. You can’t say we haven’t given you the choice.

Anyway, even though season four of True Blood has only just finished airing in the US, the finale left us with so many WTF? moments that it seems fans can’t wait to hear some of the answers and the show makers seem none too reticent in supplying them (including Rutina Wesley ).

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly , True Blood co-executive producer Raelle Tucker spoke about some of what we can expect when the show returns to HBO in 2012.

“There will be a very significant, strong, mysterious woman at the centre of one of our main stories next year,” he says. “That will be a very familiar and compelling character. It may be someone you’ve heard of before.”

The fairies will also be back in a big way. “Season five will explore more fairies, new fairies, fairies in a way you haven’t really seen fairies. We will all – as well as Sookie – come to understand fairies more than in previous seasons.”

And what about the fact that the season four finale showed vampire King of Mississippi Russell Edgington’s grave having been dug up? “Russell is not dead. It’s safe to assume the king of Mississippi is not gone for good,” teases Tucker.

And former Fellowship of the Sun leader Steve Newlin turning up with fangs? “I will say that Steve’s reason for returning to Jason is not at all what you expect.”

Looks like season five should be subtitled, “The past catching up”.
