There will never be a remake of The Exorcist, says Morgan Creek studio
It was only a few days ago that reports emerged claiming that Morgan Creek was moving forwards with a remake of The Exorcist, but the studio has wasted little time in dismissing the rumour as false. What’s more, it has gone as far as to say it will “never” attempt a remake of the revered horror property.
“For the record, we will never attempt to remake The Exorcist” reads a message of the Morgan Creek Twitter feed. Which sounds pretty comprehensive to me. It will come as welcome news to original director William Friedkin, who tweeted, “ I COMPLETELY denounce a remake of The Exorcist by Morgan Creek.”
The studio even took the time to tweet directly to Friedkin, assuring him that, “despite what was printed, we can assure you we would NEVER EVER attempt to remake The Exorcist”. Sounds like that’s that then. Unless Morgan Creek is planning the biggest 180 since Reagan’s head started doing its thing…
