Mortal Kombat for PS Vita release date pegged for May
NetherRealm Studios' fighter to rough up Sony's handheld this spring
PlayStation Vita fans will soon have their fill of gruesome deaths and disturbing fatalities, as Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm Studios have confirmed Mortal Kombat will be out to play for Sony's handheld on May 1.
The enhanced Mortal Kombat port represents the series' debut on the PS Vita. It will come loaded with the 2011 fighter, complete with all the DLC and exclusives that have been released for the Sony version since. The port will also make full use of the PS Vita's features, implementing the system's touch controls and motion-sensing tech into the main campaign and a whole new PS Vita-fied Challenge Tower. As for its online components, the port will offer a slimmed down version of Mortal Kombat's multiplayer, but still make room for one-on-one beatdowns.
Franchise fans were treated to even more Mortal Kombat goodness last month with the release of the Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition. Read our impressions of the reboot that started it all in our Mortal Kombat Super Review.
