Mortal Kombat: The Animated Series stupidity
VIDEO: KOMBAT TIME!
If this week wasn’t enough of an indication, we’re huge fans of Mortal Kombat here. Our love for the all things Outworld is only rivaled by our passion for stupid shit, and as luck would have it, we get to roll our infatuations into one Voltron ball of Mortal Kombat Stupidity! GLORY BE - It’s another Superedit from theswitcher! For those of you fortunate enough not to remember, Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm was an utterly idiotic children’s cartoon that aired on the USA network way back in 1996. Coincidentally, it aired back-to-back with the equally moronic Street Fighter Animated series.
Get ready to see a side of Netherealm the game’s developers have cruelly kept from public view! For instance, did you know that Jax used to be the fattest kid in school?! Or that Sonya Blade struggles with her femininity and Raiden occasionally succumbs to battles of crippling self-doubt?! It’s true! At least according to the animated canon, which theswitcher has cut together in a much more digestible format than actually watching all thirteen episodes, which thankfully aren’t available on DVD in the US anyhoo.
Oh, yeah! Also from if you’re as much of a fan of the switcher as we are, check out his edit of several ridiculous ending sequences from the adorably awkward Mortal Kombat 4. We kind of wasted it on a bad April Fool’s joke, but it’s hilarious enough as it is. But if moving images are too much for you, please enjoy the stupidity in screenshot form below
