Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe: It's official and we have the video!
Check out our Euro-exclusive first-look video of Sub-Zero and Batman laying the smackdown
18th April, 2008
Well, the rumours were indeed true. The next Mortal Kombat game is officially Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe, and will pit the denizens of Outworld against the DC Comics' stable of superheroes. A bit of a head-spin, no?
At the moment we don't have any details on which characters from each canon will be appearing (though Sub-Zero and Batman are obviously pretty much confirmed), but what we most certainly do have is the European first-look at the game's CG trailer. Hit play and watch Subby and Bats beat seven bells out of each other right now.
Aside from the character line-up, this pan-media crossover poses a few other important questions. Like the level of violence DC are going to allow their heroes to partake in. We certainly can't imagine Superman slicing someone in half with his heat vision, and the Batman fans on staff are already squirming at the thought of tearing his head off. Will the gore be toned down? We have no idea right now, but we'll bring you the answers to all the wonderings you might have (including release formats) as soon as we get the information.
Now watch that trailer again, bask in its badassness, and tell us how you feel about this whole thing onour forums.
