Mulder and Scully reunite in first image from X-Files revival
FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are reunited in the first image from the upcoming X-Files revival series. Taken on set - technically the picture is of a monitor displaying the two actors - the snap shows returning stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson chatting away in the backseat of a car.
It’s hard to glean any new information about the season from the image. By the looks of it, Scully is decked out for business whereas Mulder’s casual attire could have been lifted from the wardrobe of Hank Moody - Duchovny’s character on Californication. Still, seeing the pair back together after a 13-year break is an exciting enough tease.

Chris Carter, who created the original nine-season run, is returning as showrunner with writer-producers Mark Frost and James Wong also back to write and direct one episode each of the six episode season. While the powers that be are keeping plot details close to their chests, we know that the leading duo will cross paths with Walter Skinner and Cigarette Smoking Man at some point.
The X-Files returns to the small screen January 24, 2016 on Fox in the U.S. As yet, no UK release date has been confirmed.
