Promising action that "races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas", the synopsis tells us that Rick O’Connell (Fraser) is joined by his son and wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) in a battle against a 200 year-old Chinese Demon Emperor (Jet Li) and his 10,000 strong army, who are awoken from a curse put on them by an evil sorceress (Michelle Yeoh).
John Hannah also returns as Jonathan, and the script is by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, co-producers of Smallville and writers of Spider-Man 2. The site's worth checking out ’cos it's packed with making-of video featurettes.
Gotta admit, though… it doesn’t really sound like a "spellbinding turn" so much as business as usual. Though maybe with a few more wirework stunts.
The film is due to be released in the UK on 8 August.
