Natalie Portman to star opposite Michael Fassbender in Macbeth
She'll be his Lady
It was only yesterday that we learned Michael Fassbender is set to star in a new version of Macbeth , and already there's been another major casting announcement.
Screen Daily reports that Fassbender will be joined on the production by none other than Natalie Portman, who will be playing the scheming power behind the throne, Lady Macbeth.
Fassbender and Portman are already appearing in Terrence Malick's upcoming (and as yet untitled) muso drama (and they almost starred together in Jane Got A Gun , before Fassbender left that troubled production), so we can expect their chemistry to be fairly well-honed by the time this one rolls around.
The new adaptation has been scripted by Todd Luiso, and will keep the original setting and dialogue of Shakespeare's source material. No Verona Beach here…
Directed by Snowtown 's Justin Kurzel, production is set to begin on the film later this year, with no release date confirmed as yet.
