NBC commissions pilot for Constantine TV show

Another day, another comic-book franchise coming to the small screen, with NBC announcing it has ordered a pilot for a Constantine TV show.
Based upon the Hellblazer comic-books, the story will follow John Constantine, a former con-man turned supernatural bounty hunter, charged with protecting mankind from assorted dark forces.
The pilot has been penned by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer, the latter having established a long-running history of adapting DC characters for Warner Bros.
It had been thought that Constantine would take a leading role in Guillermo del Toro's much-discussed Justice League Dark , although there is no suggestion of whether there will be any crossover between the two projects.
Indeed, Justice League Dark has still yet to receive the official green light from Warner, but this latest news might just be an indicator that the wheels are in motion...
