Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit alternative walkthrough
==============
NFSHP3. Career
==============
The Hot Pursuit Career is broken into two: Racer Career and Cop Career. Both
can be attempted and completed simultaneously, as opposed to going through one
and then having to go through the other. Each location listed can have anywhere
from 2 to 6 events; however, you will have to progress through the individual
Careers to unlock the later events at each location. In terms or variety, the
Racer Career has more types of events to compete in. Before you each event, you
will be given an introduction to the event, be able to see how your Friends did
in the event, as well as the Bounty rewards.
=====================
NFSHP3A. Racer Career
=====================
The Racer Career events are marked with orange signs. Completing these events
will add to your Racer Bounty, which will unlock more cars for you to use, as
well as unlock more events to compete in.

The Seacrest County police take a zero-tolerance policy to speed limit
infractions and their enforcement tactics can get a little rough. Still, what
do you care? You have a race to win.
Event Distance: 7.6 miles
Gold (6,000 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (4,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
Bronze (2,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd
You will have no weapons to use during this event. You will be outrunning Ford
Crown Victorias. For each one you take down, you will earn an extra 500 Bounty.
You can also take out the other racers to help your chances at victory. This
event is basically a sprint, since the cops won't use weapons either.
Event 2: Sports Car Named Desire
Event Type: Race
Sports Series
Time of Day: 3:00 AM
Weather: Clear
It's time to decide which car you desire the most. Will you choose freedom,

Event Distance: 6.7 miles
Gold (6,000 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (4,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
Bronze (2,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd
This race has a bunch of early turns. The other racers may seem a little more
aggressive than normal, so watch out for a possible wreck. Once you earn Bronze
in this event, as well as the other Sports Series events, the Performance
Series events will become available.
Event 3: The Ultimate Road Car
Event Type: Preview
Performance Series
Time of Day: 10:00 AM

McLaren invites you to test drive their classic sports car: the F1. Wit ha
limited production run of 106, a central driving position, butterfly doors, and
an engine bay lined with gold, the McLaren remains the fastest naturally
aspirated car in the world.

Silver (5,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd (Finish in under 3:

This course contains many sharp turns, including a couple sections that some in
a relatively-quick succession.
Event 4: Racing Stripes
Event Type: Duel
Super Series
Time of Day: 4:00 AM
Weather: Wet
The Lamborghini Gallardo Valentino Balboni and Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake
are dueling on the tricky mountain roads of Eagle Crest. With so much power
going through the rear wheels and some very tight turns only the best drivers
will prevail.
Event Distance: 12.5 miles
Gold (10,000 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (6,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
By the time you get to this event, you may be able to choose either car,
instead of being limited to whichever one you had unlocked by the time you got
here. I recommend the GT500; the extra bulk compared to the Lamborghini allows
you to thrash it around a little and maybe knock it into something and wreck
it.
Event 5: Timed Machine
Event Type: Time Trial
Super Series
Time of Day: 8:00 PM
Weather: Cloudy
Use the traffic to your advantage as you take the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, a
classic of tomorrow, on a foot to the floor drive along East Gorge Freeway.

Silver (6,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:13.00
Bronze (3,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:33.00
You will be driving the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG for this event. The course is
wet, so watch the drifting. There is a useful shortcut on the right, right
after the first turn. Once you get on the highway, it is basically a sprint to
the finish; a good chunk of it will be driven at top speed, most likely.
Event 6: Blacklisted
Event Type: Hot Pursuit
Super Series

Your recent exploits have got the attention of the county Sheriff. He's unhappy

Silver (6,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
Bronze (3,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd
The only car you are allowed to use for this event is the Mercedes-Benz SLS
AMG. You will have 2 Turbos, and 3 Jammers, EMPs, and Spike Strips to help

It's time to weigh up the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X versus the Subaru
Impreza WRX STI. Both are renowned for their off-road capabilities, as well as
their speed on track, but only one can be your guiding star tonight
Event Distance: 7.0 miles
Gold (6,000 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (4,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
You are limited to either the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X or the Subaru
Impreza WRX STI. The first time you attempt this event, you may only have the
Mitsubishi available; however, you are at least guaranteed 4,000 Bounty, since
there are only 2 of you racing. Your opponent will stick to the main road, but
there are useful shortcuts to take, especially if you need to get close to him
Event 2: The Prestige
Event Type: Race
Performance Series
Time of Day: 10:00 PM
Weather: Clear
Take any of these luxurious sports cars from these four prestigious marques of
Jaguar, Porsche, Maserati, or Alfa Romeo.
Event Distance: 13.2 miles
Gold (8,000 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (5,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
Bronze (2,500 Bounty): Finish 3rd
Like the description says, you are only able to use cars made by Jaguar,
Porsche, Maserati, or Alfa Romeo. Some of the racers will play rough, so watch
out around traffic if any are close to you. There are a plethora of long
straights for using Nitrous
Event 3: Ageless
Event Type: Preview
Exotic Series
Time of Day: 4:00 AM
Weather: Clear
Koenigsegg are allowing you to preview the Agera, successor to the CCX and the
pinnacle of 15 years of evolution-the future is in your hands now

Silver (8,000 Bounty): Finish in under 2:48.00
Bronze (4,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:03.00
This event isn't too long, but there are a few objects that will just pop out
of nowhere and wreck you if you don't see them in time. There are plenty of
long straights to unleash this vehicle's true potential on, which can help to
bring down your time the longer you stay at top speed
Event 4: Bull Run
Event Type: Time Trial
Exotic Series
Time of Day: 1:00 AM
Weather: Thunderstorm
Make the most of the light night traffic and take Lamborghini's fastest ever
road car, the Murcielago LP 670-4 SV, along these high-speed coastal roads.
Event Distance: 9.4 miles
Gold (12,500 Bounty): Finish in under 3:25.00
Silver (8,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:35.00
Bronze (4,000 Bounty): Finish in under 4:05.00
There is plenty of room to drive, since most of this event is run on the wider
roads. Like the description says, traffic is very light, so it shouldn't be
much of a problem. Try and hang as close to the center divider as you can.
There are many sharp turns and as you approach them, there are reflectors on
the ground to help you stay on the road as you go through the turn
Event 5: Slide Show
Event Type: Time Trial
Exotic Series
Time of Day: 2:00 AM
Weather: Wet
Choose from massive range of exotics to fins the perfect balance of speed,
power, and control as you tackle this winding, 8.4 mile Time Trial.
Event Distance: 8.4 miles
Gold (12,500 Bounty): Finish 1st (Finish in under 3:10.00)
Silver (8,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd (Finish in under 3:24.00)
Bronze (4,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd (Finish in under 3:52.00)
This course has a good amount of straights and most of the turns can be taken
without having to go into a drift. You will most likely have to drift through
the 360-degree turns near the end.

Silver (4,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd (Finish in under 1:30.00)
Bronze (2,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd (Finish in under 1:53.00)
Before you start the event, it will tell you that for Gold you have to finish
1st, which is easy to do when you are the only racer. However, to earn a medal,
you must beat the times listed in the parenthesis. This course is straight for
the most part, only two turns that require drifting, plus there isn't much
traffic, so you can drive in oncoming for most of the event.

Event 3: Stampede
Event Type: Hot Pursuit
Super Series

Gold (10,000 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (6,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd

desert stretch of road; use a Turbo here without hitting anything to receive
the "In the Zone" Reward.

Bronze (4,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd
You are only allowed to use the Bentley Continental, Ford GT, McLaren MP4-12C,
Porsche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640, or the Mercedes-Benz SLR
McLaren for another fun romp through the desert.
Event 5: Power Struggle
Event Type: Hot Pursuit
Exotic Series
Time of Day: 12:00 AM
Weather: Clear
You're outnumbered, but not outgunned. These desert cops might be aggressive,
but they aren't prepared for the likes of you. You should have no trouble
taking them out as you duel to the finish
Event Distance: 12.0 miles
Gold (12,500 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (8,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
You are limited to the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 or the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
You will have 2 Jammers and Turbos, plus 4 EMPs and Spike Strips to combat the
cops with. Just like with one of the previous Hot Pursuits, this one is a
masked Duel.
Event 6: Calm Before the Storm
Event Type: Hot Pursuit
Hyper Series
Time of Day: 7:00 PM
Weather: Thunderstorm
It seems as if you've successfully avoided police attention for today's race;
radio chatter has been quiet. Too quiet, perhaps...
Event Distance: 16.5 miles
Gold (15,000 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (10,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
Bronze (5,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd
You will have 3 Turbos, and 5 Jammers, EMPs, and Spike Strips available during

with that, would you?
Event Distance: 7.5 miles
Gold (6,000 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (4,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
Bronze (2,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd
You will have 4 Spike Strips to use in this event. Once again, there are 4 of
you, so you will earn a medal as long as you don't finish in last place. You
will earn 200 Bounty for any Spike Strip hit, whether a Cop or Racer runs over
it. You will be outrunning Ford Police Interceptor Concepts and they will be
able to call in Roadblocks. You will wreck if you hit any of the stationary
cars. Should you happen to drive through one that no has touched, you will
receive the "Eye of the Needle" Reward.
Event 2: Sidewinder
Event Type: Time Trial
Performance Series
Time of Day: 4:00 PM
Weather: Clear
The desert gets even hotter when all the Performance cars are out setting fast
times along Boulder Road
Event Distance: 4.2 miles
Gold (8,000 Bounty): Finish 1st (Finish in under 1:42.00)
Silver (5,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd (Finish in under 1:49.00)
Bronze (2,500 Bounty): Finish 3rd (Finish in under 2:03.00)
This course is full of quick bends, so controlling the car and keeping it on
the road becomes a little more fun, especially since it is only a two-lane
road. I would recommend taking all 3 shortcuts. Use Nitrous when coming out of
all 3 to get you speed back up, since the cars accelerate faster of the road
compared to the shortcuts.
Event 3: M Power
Event Type: Gauntlet
Performance Series
Time of Day: 5:00 PM
Weather: Clear
Speed. Power. Control. The BMW M3 raised the bar for ultimate driving
performance. Housed beneath the Powerdrive, the M3's V8 delivers 421 BHP and 0
to 60 in 4.8 seconds-just what you need to survive the lengthy pursuit
Event Distance: 7.3 miles
Gold (8,000 Bounty): Finish 1st (Finish in under 2:55.00)
Silver (5,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd (Finish in under 3:10.00)
Bronze (2,500 Bounty): Finish 3rd (Finish in under 3:40.00)
You will be able to use 3 Spike Strips in this event. There will be two cops
that will appear ahead of you in the first tunnel, and they will be the only
cops who will appear during the event. You can ram them when you first see them
to deal a good amount of damage, up to wrecking them. When you wreck cops in
Gauntlets, you won't receive any Bounty, but your Nitrous will be refilled.
After earning Bronze in this, and all other Performance Series events, Super
Series events will be unlocked.
Event 4: No Substitute
Event Type: Race

911 Turbo S Cabriolet, and Porshce 918 Spyder
Event Distance: 7.5 miles
Gold (10,000 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (6,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
Bronze (3,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd
Only Porsches are allowed in this event. Taking shortcuts is up to you, if you
think it will help and you can navigate it without hitting anything, go for it.
The other racers will take shortcuts, especially the ones closer to the front
and as you get near the finish.
Event 5: Double Jeopardy
Event Type: Hot Pursuit
Exotic Series
Time of Day: 4:00 PM
Weather: Clear
The police are doubling their efforts to close down the illegal street racing
in Seacrest County, so watch out, they're hunting in pairs
Event Distance: 16.6 miles
Gold (12,500 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (8,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
Bronze (4,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd
You will have 2 Turbos, and 4 Jammers, EMPs, and Spike Strips to slow down the
cops and escape. The cops will have all of their weapons as well. For anyone
who has finished the Cop Career, this event is very similar to 'End of the
Line' almost everything is the same. So, if you did well there as a Cop, you
should be able to anticipate where all the Roadblocks and Helicopters will end
up.
Event 6: Spoilt for Choice
Event Type: Race
Exotic Series
Time of Day: 10:00 AM
Weather: Clear
This open race from Cascade Terrace to Lost Horse Road is just 12.0 miles long.
It'll probably take you longer to choose your car from a range, including the
Aston Martin One-77, the Pagani Zonda Cinque, and the Lamborghini Reventon
Roadster
Event Distance: 12.0 miles
Gold (12,500 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (8,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
Bronze (4,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd
This race is wide open for the first half, but then goes down to two lanes
after that, so there isn't much passing room. If you want to jump out to a
quick lead, take the first 3 shortcuts you come across.

Porsche invites you test drive the phenomenal Carerra GT. An idea originating
from the pits of Le Mans led to exactly 1,270 being built-because exclusivity
occasionally needs a limit.
Event Distance: 6.8 miles
Gold (6,000 Bounty): Finish 1st (Finish in under 2:21.00)
Silver (4,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd (Finish in under 2:28.00)
Bronze (2,000 Bounty): Finish 3rd (Finish in under 2:45.00)
This Porsche Carerra handles very well. You will be able to take many of the
turns without needing to drift, unless absolutely necessary. I would recommend
taking the two train yard shortcuts (1st one on the right after coming out of
the first tunnel and the one across the road) to help lower your time because
the corners they cut go a long ways out.
Event 2: Ultimately Open
Event Type: Preview
Super Series
Time of Day: 4:00 PM

Lamborghini offer you the opportunity to experience one the most exclusive cars
ever made. The Reventon Roadster is a car of breathtaking fascination, menacing
power, and uncompromising performance.
Event Distance: 4.8 miles
Gold (10,000 Bounty): Finish in under 1:48.00
Silver (6,000 Bounty): Finish in under 1:57.00
Bronze (3,000 Bounty): Finish in under 2:08.00
This course has the two 360-degree turns, so the cleaner you can keep drifting
through them, the faster your time will be. Plus, if you can hold the drift
throughout the turn, you can refill an empty Nitrous bar. I would recommend
sticking to the main road and avoiding the shortcut between the 360-degree
turns.
Event 3: Trail of Destruction
Event Type: Gauntlet
Super Series
Time of Day: 10:00 AM
Weather: Clear
Can anything stop the monstrous Nissan GT-R SpecV as it leaves a trail of

Silver (6,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:35.00
Bronze (3,000 Bounty): Finish in under 4:00.00
You will have 6 Spike Strips to help stop the cops. You will have to outrun two
Porsche Panamera Turbos, who will be able to call in Roadblocks. If the first
one that chases you calls in a Roadblock before you reach the observatory, take
the shortcut on the right, and you will avoid it.
Event 4: Tough Torque
Event Type: Gauntlet
Exotic Series
Time of Day: 4:00 PM

How to stop a Bentley weighing 2,240 kg and powered by a V12 that can generate
621 BHP. It's not going to be easy, but that doesn't mean they will give up

Event Distance: 12.2 miles
Gold (12,500 Bounty): Finish in under 4:55.00
Silver (8,000 Bounty): Finish in under 5:15.00
Bronze (4,000 Bounty): Finish in under 5:45.00
You will have 6 Spike Strips and 2 Turbos to help you evade the law. This car
being the proverbially brick of the game, if you can ram any cop (they will be
Mercedes-Benz McLarens) before they begin to give chase, even if you just clip
them, there is a good chance that you can knock them out. The cops will be able
to use EMPs to slow you down. There are only a couple cops so if you can knock
them out early, you can save Turbos for long straights, instead of using
Nitrous
Event 5: One of Five
Event Type: Gauntlet
Exotic Series
Time of Day: 4:00 AM
Weather: Clear
The Zonda Cinque's carbo-titanium weave should offer you some protection, but I

Silver (8,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:10.00
Bronze (4,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:30.00
You can pick between the original and the NFS Edition (The only differences are
visual). You will be able to use 2 Jammers and a Turbo during the event. You
will need to outrun a pair of Ford GTs that are able to use Spike Strips. Save
your Turbo for a long straight after the cops have been dispatched.

targeting them with a quick shock from your EMP.
Event Distance: 6.4 miles
Gold (8,000 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (5,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
You are only able to use the Maserati GranCabrio and Alfa Romeo 8c Spider,
which you probably won't have unlocked the first time through. You will have 2
Spike Strips and 4 EMPs to use. This event is structured like a Duel, so there
is no 3rd place, but since the cops are present, it is a Hot Pursuit.
Event 2: Shock and Awe
Event Type: Hot Pursuit
Performance Series
Time of Day: 9:00 PM
Weather: Thunderstorm
The lastest weather reports indicate a storm brewing over the desert;
electrical activity has been forecast.

Silver (5,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
Bronze (2,500 Bounty): Finish 3rd

Silver (6,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:45.00
Bronze (3,000 Bounty): Finish in under 4:10.00
After driving along the coast, you will be dumped onto the freeway, which gives
you a good chance to build up speed. You will then wind up on the open roads of
the desert. There won't be many cars, so feel free to stay in Oncoming as long
as you can, to build up Nitrous and reach top speed. If you happen to crash,
you can still earn Gold as long as you haven't let off the gas.
Event 4: Twin Turbo
Event Type: Duel
Exotic Series
Time of Day: 7:00 PM

Choose between McLaren's dazzling technology showcase-the MP4-12C-and Bentley's
extreme continental Supersport in this 10.8 miles Duel, finishing on Mission

Event Distance: 10.8 miles
Gold (12,500 Bounty): Finish 1st
Silver (8,000 Bounty): Finish 2nd
This course starts out easy, but then gets more technical, and for that reason,
I would recommend the McLaren. Because it is a lot smaller than the Bentley, it
is able to get in and out of drifts better, and it is more maneuverable than
the Bentley

Merit (4,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:50.00
Pass (2,000 Bounty): Finish in under 4:36.00
The course is wet, so it may be a little slippery while driving. You will want
to take a few shortcuts. There are two shortcuts early on that will be very
helpful: One cuts through an industrial area on the right and the other is a
paved corner-cutter on the left, not too far after the industrial one
Event 2: Spike Out

Merit (5,000 Bounty): Finish in under 2:48.00
Pass (2,500 Bounty): Finish in under 3:21.00
Due to the storms in this event, you will get a little "atmospheric" lighting
from time to time. For some reason, this one seems a little tougher than other
night races, probably because everything blends in so it is a little harder to
see. Stick to the main road; you'll be able to keep up your speed, plus it is
very hard to even find the beginnings of the shortcuts on this course.
Event 4: Porsche Patrol
Event Type: Hot Pursuit

Merit (6,000 Bounty): Bust 4 racers

or the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Most likely, the first time you do this event, you
will only have unlocked the Panamera Turbo. You will have 4 Roadblocks and 6
EMPs to use. You can earn the "Electrically Charged" Trophy or by taking out a

pulling up along side him, he will slow down in hopes that you will pass him
by. He also won't think twice about going down shortcuts.
Event 2: Do Look After It
Event Type: Preview
Traffic Police Unit
Time of Day: 6:00 PM
Weather: Clear
Seacrest County PD has just taken delivery of the Aston Martin One-77. It's the
world's most expensive production sports car, so drive safe. You'll pick up
time penalties for hitting anything.
Event Distance: 5.2 miles
Distinction (6,000 Bounty): Finish in under 1:51.00
Merit (4,000 Bounty): Finish in under 2:01.00
Pass (2,000 Bounty): Finish in under 2:24.00
For those who played the demo, this course is basically just part of the demo
course backwards. This car won't hold its speed well in the shortcuts, so it
isn't recommended to take them. Just stick to the main road and try not to hit
anything. Also, save your Nitrous for long straights, since this car can easily
break 200 MPH when a full Nitrous bar is used all at once.
Event 3: Hang Tough
Event Type: Interceptor
Rapid Deployment Unit
Time of Day: 8:00 PM
Weather: Clear
Extreme caution is advised when dealing with this escaped convict. He will do
anything to avoid being sent back to Seacrest Penitentiary.
Distinction (10,000 Bounty): Bust the racer in under 3:00.00
Merit (6,000 Bounty): Bust the racer in under 4:00.00
Pass (3,000 Bounty): Bust the racer
You will have no weapons available for this event, and neither does he, so you
will have to play rough to bring him down. Whenever he goes into a turn, try
and aim straight for him, if you hit him, you can knock off a few chunks of
health.
Event 4: Hard Target

Time of Day: 10:00 AM

Leave the road and hit the dirt to make the arrest. Your vehicle has been
equipped with Spike Strips. Make them count.
Distinction (6,000 Bounty): Bust the driver in under 2:00.00
Merit (4,000 Bounty): Bust the driver in under 3:00.00
Pass (2,000 Bounty): Bust the driver
In this event, you will have 5 Spike Strips with which to work. This racer
won't slow down like the one in 'Block Buster', but he will take any shortcut
he can. Try and deal as much damage as you can to him and get him down to one
or two health blocks left, then pull ahead of him and drop a Spike Strip to end
the chase.
Event 2: More Haste, Less Speed
Event Type: Rapid Response
Highway Patrol Unit
Time of Day: 9:00 PM
Weather: Clear
Let's see how fast you can respond to an emergency. Race east on Bear Hollow,
but drive carefully-you'll incur time penalties for anything you hit.
Event Distance: 7.6 miles
Distinction (8,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:03.00
Merit (5,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:18.00
Pass (2,500 Bounty): Finish in under 3:56.00
Just like the Rapid Response in the Aston Martin, you will probably want to
stick to the main road and use Nitrous whenever you come to a long straight. If
you do this, only drift through the turns that appear as 90-degree turns. These
turns will almost always have diagonal lines on the outside of the turns. For
all the other turns, most of the cars will be able to take them at speed, or
they will naturally slow down on their own. If you choose to take a few
shortcuts, most of them connect to another or are lengthy themselves, so you
will be going a little slower than the main road, but some can be beneficial,
depending on your car.
Event 3: Contact Sport
Event Type: Rapid Response
Special Response Unit
Time of Day: 3:00 AM
Weather: Thunderstorm
Get to the end of Bear Hollow as fast as you can. Race clean to avoid time
penalties
Event Distance: 11.0 miles
Distinction (15,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:50.00
Merit (10,000 Bounty): Finish in under 4:06.00
Pass (5,000 Bounty): Finish in under 4:32.00
Stick to the main roads, the shortcuts may be tough to see down. The roads will
be slick because this time it is actually raining, so watch your drifting.

Distinction (6,000 Bounty): Bust all 4 racers
Merit (4,000 Bounty): Bust 3 racers
Pass (2,000 Bounty): Bust 2 racers
For anyone who played the demo, earning Distinction in this event should be
easy. Even without playing the demo, this event isn't too hard. You'll have 3
Roadblocks and Spike Strips to work with. This is the last Traffic Police event
and Highway Patrol events will become available after completing this event, as
well as any remaining Traffic Police events.
Event 2: Locking On
Event Type: Interceptor
Rapid Deployment Unit
Time of Day: 10:00 AM

Distinction (10,000 Bounty): Bust the racer in under 2:30.00
Merit (6,000 Bounty): Bust the racer in under 3:30.00
Pass (3,000 Bounty): Bust the racer
You will only have 2 Roadblocks and Spike Strips to use during this event. The
Lamborghini you get to chase has the ability to use EMPs should you wind up in
front of him. If he begins locking on to you, you can either hit the brakes or
drop a Spike Strip. If you try and slow down to avoid the EMP, he will also
slow down to try and stay behind you. If he is locking on to you and hits your
Spike Strip, you will earn the "Power Spike" Trophy or .
Event 3: Guided Missile
Event Type: Rapid Response
Rapid Deployment Unit
Time of Day: 6:00 AM
Weather: Clear
Fast police response times require skill, speed, and precision driving. Respond
to the emergency and head west on the South Bay Turnpike. Damage to the car
will add time penalties, so be careful out there.
Event Distance: 11.5 miles
Distinction (10,000 Bounty): Finish in under 4:14.00
Merit (6,000 Bounty): Finish in under 4:30.00
Pass (3,000 Bounty): Finish in under 5:15.00
This entire event will take place along the Turnpike, so you will have plenty
of room, you just need to avoid all of the traffic. If you are having a hard
time seeing the taillights, jump into the oncoming lane and look for the
headlights.
Event 4: Coming in Hot
Event Type: Rapid Response
Rapid Deployment Unit
Time of Day: 7:00 PM
Weather: Clear
Get your car to the north end of Oakmont Valley ASAP. Watch out for traffic and
stay tight through the bends-you'll incur time penalties for anything you hit.
Event Distance: 7.2 miles
Distinction (10,000 Bounty): Finish in under 2:58.00
Merit (6,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:09.00
Pass (3,000 Bounty): Finish in under 3:34.00
This course starts out fine but then becomes a bit of a pain, with two
360-degree turns. By about halfway, the sun has set, so it becomes a little
harder to see any obstacles in front of you, not that is was very easy before.
Event 5: Heavy Hitters
Event Type: Hot Pursuit
Speed Enforcement Unit
Time of Day: 8:00 AM
Weather: Clear
Six fast, aggressive suspects must be brought to heel before they reach the end

Distinction (12,500 Bounty): Bust all 6 racers
Merit (8,000 Bounty): Bust 5 racers
Pass (4,000 Bounty): Bust 4 racers
You almost have no choice but to fight the racers in this event; you will only
be able to use 1 of each weapon, so make them count. The racers will have no
weapons to use against you, making the pursuit a little easier. Just avoid the
traffic and the Helicopter's Spike Strips, if you choose to call it in.

Event Distance: 4.1 miles
Distinction (8,000 Bounty): Finish in under 1:38.00
Merit (5,000 Bounty): Finish in under 1:49.00
Pass (2,500 Bounty): Finish in under 2:11.00
You will take control of a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 for this event. This car
isn't able to cleanly handle most of the turns on the course, so you may need
to drift or let off the gas a little more than normal. This car can easily pass
200 MPH, even without using Nitrous, due to the elevation changes, so save
Nitrous only for long straights. Whether or not you want to utilize any of the
shortcuts is up to you; I was able to earn Distinction without using any, but I
hit the walls a couple times
Event 2: Under Pressure
Event Type: Interceptor

Time of Day: 3:00 AM
Weather: Rain
All SCPD airborne units are available for your use to help stop this dangerous
suspect
Distinction (10,000 Bounty): Bust the racer in under 2:30.00
Merit (6,000 Bounty): Bust the racer in under 4:00.00
Pass (3,000 Bounty): Bust the racer
You will have 2 EMPs and 3 Helicopters available for you to use. He will use
Spike Strips to stop you. The Helicopters will be very useful because he will
try and pull as far away from you as he can, but the Helicopters will keep the
pursuit going.
Event 3: Priority Call
Event Type: Rapid Response
Speed Enforcement Unit
Time of Day: 10:00 PM
Weather: Clear
Respond to the emergency call-get to the end of Coral Bay Drive as fast as you
can. Avoid time penalties by driving without hitting anything
Event Distance: 11.0 miles
Distinction (12,500 Bounty): Finish in under 4:24.00
Merit (8,000 Bounty): Finish in under 4:39.00
Pass (4,000 Bounty): Finish in under 5:12.00
There aren't many shortcuts worth taking (or any to begin with), but there are
plenty of long straights, perfect for Burnouts. Try and stick to the middle of
the road, it is easier to follow the yellow divider and you will be able to
react easier to any traffic you approach.

if you can guess which way he will turn, you can nail him when he does and take
out a decent chunk. Also if you can happen to pin him for about 3 to 5 seconds,
the pursuit will end, regardless of his health, and this may be one of the only
events where you are able to bust a racer by pinning him. This being the last

specific to the Racer or Cop Careers, with the exception of Hot Pursuits, which
are available to both sides.
Hot Pursuit
-----------
Hot Pursuits aren't specific to either side of Career, but the objectives for
each side differ. In the Cop Career, you will need to Bust as many racers as
you can, using any means available, before they reach the finish line. You will
be the only Cop chasing the racers; the only other time you would see other
Cops would be if you call in a Roadblock. The more racers you bust, the better
the rewards. In the Racer Career, you will need to make it to the finish line.
You can take out the other racers if you feel the need to. In both Racer and
Cop Hot Pursuits, you will receive 500 Bounty for wrecking a Cop or busting a
Racer, as well as having your Nitrous refilled.
Time Trial
----------
Time Trials are only found in the Racer Career. In Time Trials, you will need
to race to the finish line as fast as you can. The faster you reach the finish,
the better the rewards. Look for shortcuts as they can help to possibly shave a
few seconds off your time.
Rapid Response
--------------
Rapid Responses are only in the Cop Career, and are equivalent to Time Trials.
There is one twist to Rapid Responses: Time Penalties. Time Penalties will be
instantly added to your time, as opposed to being added up and added on at the
end. For any wall hit, you will have 2 seconds added to your time. Riding the
walls is not advised as you will keep incurring the penalty. You will also
receive a 3-second penalty for hitting any of the traffic cars. If you hit one
and wreck, you will not have 3 seconds added, but the time it takes you to
reset may seem to make up for it.
Race
----
Races are specific to the Racer Career. As with any Race anywhere, the idea is
to finish first. The Cops will never appear during these events, which is a bit
of a change from previous games that featured Cops
Interceptor
-----------
Interceptors are only found in the Cop Career. In these events, you will have
to chase down one car. You will be able to use anything available to take him
down, but the farther you go, the more they will do anything to try and escape
from you, such as use a Jammer and pull a U-turn.
Duel
----
In Duels, you will only have a choice of two cars. Whichever car you choose to
use, your opponent will use the one that you chose not to use. Duels are
specific to the Racer Career.
Gauntlet
--------
Gauntlet events are only found in the Racer Career. In these events, you will
be on your own, trying to survive the Cops and outlast the clock.
Preview
-------
Preview events are featured early on in both Careers. These events will allow
you to test drive some of the more powerful cars. Preview events are basically
Time Trials and Rapid Responses, depending on which side of the Career you are
on, under a different name. For Cop Previews, since they are still
(technically) Rapid Responses, you will still have time added on for anything
that you hit.
===============
NFSHP5. Weapons
===============
Each side of the Career will have their own Weapons to use. At first, you won't
be able to use weapons until you have passed or earned Bronze in the first
event they are featured in. In those events, you will only be able to use that
weapon. Before each event, you will be shown how many of each weapon you will
have available to use during the event. As you get more successful hits with
each weapon, they get upgraded. They are upgraded once you reach the Phase 2
and Phase 3 Milestones, listed in the next section
Jammer
------
Jammers are one of the Racer weapons. To activate it, press Right on the D-Pad.
When a Jammer is active, the cops will be unable to use weapons. Their mini-map
will also be down for a short period of time while their systems reboot.
Jammers will also allow to see any Roadblocks ahead of you that the Cops have
set up. As you upgrade this weapon, the time that the effects last increases.
The first event that you are able to use Jammers in is 'Shock and Awe'
Spike Strip
-----------
Both Cops and Racers are able to use Spike Strips. Spike Strips drop out of the
back of your car, so when you have someone coming up behind you, line them up
in your rear-view mirror and drop one and watch them spin. To drop Spike
Strips, press Down on the D-Pad. Anyone can run over Spike Strips, whether a
Racer or Cop dropped them. Cop Spikes will have blue lights; Racer Spikes will
have red lights. As you upgrade them by getting hits, they will deploy quicker
and once they reach Level 3, two Strips will be deployed at once. The first
time you are able to use Spike Strips are 'Breach of the Peace' (Racer) and
'Fighting Dirty' (Cop)
EMP
---
Just like Spike Strips, both Cops and Racers can use an EMP. To activate an
EMP, press Left on the D-Pad. EMPs need to lock-on to a target before they can
be fired. The car that you lock-on to is whichever one is directly ahead of
you, so every now and again you'll end up locking-on to a car you didn't want
to. If you take too long to lock-on to a car, or if the one you are targeting
gets too far ahead of you, the EMP will fail to hit. As a Racer, you can use
Jammer, which make the Cops unable to continue locking-on to you and the EMP
will be dodged. A common tactic Racers will use is to activate a Jammer and
then begin locking-on with an EMP, making it harder for a Cop to avoid it. As
the EMP is upgraded by hitting the target, it will lock-on quicker, and cause a
little extra damage. The first event you are able to use EMPs in are 'Denial of
Service' (Cop) and 'Beauty and the Beasts' (Racer).
Roadblock
---------
Roadblocks are a Cop-specific weapon. To call in a Roadblock, press Right on
the D-Pad. Roadblocks will be placed ahead of the Racer that is out in front.
Roadblocks will line-up Cop cars along the main road. If the Roadblock is
located at the beginning or end of shortcut, the Cops may partially block of
the Roadblock, but other than that, Roadblocks will never be located on
shortcuts. As you upgrade the Roadblock by having Racers run into one, stronger
vehicles will be used in the roadblock, which will cause more damage. The first
time you are able to use Roadblocks in 'Block Buster'
Turbo
-----
Turbos are a Racer-specific weapon. To activate a Turbo, press Up on the D-Pad.
When you use a Turbo, you will instantly receive a speed boost, allowing you to
quickly escape from the Cops. As you upgrade the Turbo system, the longer the
effects of the Turbo will increase. The first event to feature Turbos is
'Stampede'
Helicopter
----------
Helicopters are only available to Cops. To call in a Helicopter, press Up on
the D-Pad. Helicopters last longer than any of the other weapons. Helicopters
are useful for keeping escaping Racers within range and can help you take them
down. Helicopters are able to drop Spike Strips to damage or take out Racers.
Helicopters carry their own Spike Strips and do not rely on the amount that you
have. As you upgrade the Helicopter by having Racers hit the Spike Strips they
dropped, they last longer and have more Spike Strips available to drop. The
first event to feature Helicopter is 'Eye in the Sky'
==================
NFSHP6. Milestones
==================
As you progress through the Careers, you will periodically hit certain
Milestones. There are Milestones specifically for the Cop Career, the Racer
Career, and for either Career that can be completed in both Careers (sort of).
When you complete one, a notice will pop-up at the bottom of the screen,
telling you which one you completed and how much Bounty you earned as a reward.
The Bounty reward will be applied to whichever Career you are in when you hit
the Milestone. Each Milestone has 4 different Reward points. If an event is
restarted, all stats accumulated in the event are not added to your totals. All
totals listed are running totals.

A list of PS3 Trophies and and how to earn them. The will also have the amount
of points you earn by completing each task.
=====================
NFSHP7A. PS3 Trophies
=====================
There are 51 Trophies available
Bronze Trophies (38)
--------------------
1. Settling the Score: Beaten a Friends Autolog Recommendation
Before every event, Autolog will pick one of your friend's times. If you beat
the time that the Autolog recommended, this Trophy will pop-up at the end of
the event.
2. Graffiti: Written on the Wall
When you have beaten an Autolog Recommendation or place 1st on your Speedwall,
which is where the Autolog pulls the times that it recommends, after the event,
when you go back to the map, a pop-up will appear asking if you wish to write
on the Wall. Click on Yes and the Trophy will appear.
3. Share the Dream: Shared a Dreamshot
A Dreamshot is any picture that you take. You can take a Dreamshot at any time
during an event by pressing the R3 button. Go to the Main Menu and select the
"Photos" option. Select any photo and upload it.
4. Socialite: 5 or more NFS Friends
All you need are 5 people on your Friends list that have played this game. If
you need to find a few more friends, Autolog can recommend friends to add to
help you reach 5.
5. Gotcha!: First Racer Bust
These next few Trophies are specific to the Cop Career. To Bust a Racer, you
must lower their vehicles health to 0, any way possible. You will get this
Trophy by finishing 'Chase 101', the first Cop event. The racer will already
have half of his health gone, so take out the rest and the Trophy will appear
after the event has finished.

Lieutenant is Rank 14. To get there, you need to earn 1,130,000 Cop Bounty.
Most likely, by this time, all Cop events have been unlocked, so you will have
to go back and repeat events. I would recommend Hot Pursuits using the Special
Response Unit. By busting all the racers in one of those events, you can earn
up 20,000 Bounty each time (15,000 for Distinction and about 5,000 for driving
skills and busting racers).
11. Undercover: Promoted to Undercover
Undercover is Rank 17. To get there, you need to earn 1,550,000 Cop Bounty. By
this time, all Cop events have been unlocked, so you will have to go back and

By busting all the racers in one of those events, you can earn up 20,000 Bounty
each time (15,000 for Distinction and about 5,000 for driving skills and

Bounty each time (15,000 for Distinction and about 5,000 for driving skills and
busting racers).
14. Chase: Played 10 Online Hot Pursuits as a Cop
When you play online, your team is randomly selected. Finish 10 Hot Pursuits as
a Cop and this will unlock after the 10th.
15. Bounty Hunter: Played 10 Online Interceptors as a Cop
When you play online, your team is randomly selected. Finish 10 Interceptors as
a Cop and this will unlock after the 10th.
16. Vengeance is Mine: First Cop Wrecked
The next few Trophies are specific to the Racer Career. To wreck Cops, you need
to participate in Hot Pursuits. The first Hot Pursuit you do as a Racer is
'First Offence'. Take out one of the Crown Victorias chasing you and the Trophy
will pop-up.
17. Suspect: Wanted Level is Suspect
Suspect is Rank 2. To get there, you need to earn 20,000 Racer Bounty. The

quickest way to do this is to earn Gold in the various events.
22. Wanted: Wanted Level is Wanted
Wanted is Rank 14. To get there, you need to earn 1,130,000 Racer Bounty. Most
likely, by this time, all Racer events have been unlocked, so you will have to
go back and repeat events. I would recommend Hot Pursuits using the Hyper
Series. By winning in one of those events, you can earn up 20,000 Bounty each
time (15,000 for Gold and about 5,000 for driving skills and wrecking cops).
23. Fugitive: Wanted Level is Fugitive
Fugitive is Rank 17. To get there, you need to earn 1,550,000 Racer Bounty. By
this time, all Racer events have been unlocked, so you will have to go back and
repeat events. I would recommend Hot Pursuits using the Hyper Series. By
winning in one of those events, you can earn up 20,000 Bounty each time (15,000
for Gold and about 5,000 for driving skills and wrecking cops).
24. Notorious: Wanted Level is Notorious
Notorious is Rank 19. To get there, you need to earn 1,850,000 Racer Bounty. By
this time, all Racer events have been unlocked, so you will have to go back and
repeat events. I would recommend Hot Pursuits using the Hyper Series. By
winning in one of those events, you can earn up 20,000 Bounty each time (15,000
for Gold and about 5,000 for driving skills and wrecking cops).
25. Festival of Speed: Played 10 Online Races
Self-explanatory. The Trophy will pop-up after finishing the 10th Race
26. Race: Played 10 Online Hot Pursuits as a Racer
When you play online, your team is randomly selected. Finish 10 Hot Pursuits as
a Racer and this will unlock after the 10th.
27. Escapologist: Played 10 Online Interceptors as a Racer
When you play online, your team is randomly selected. Finish 10 Interceptors as
a Cop and this will unlock after the 10th.
28. Burnout: Used a full Nitrous Bas without hitting anything
This can be done in either Career. Wait until the Nitrous Bar is filled and
until you come to a long straight. Use all of the Nitrous at once and the
Trophy will pop-up shortly after
29. Wall of Steel: Successful use of a Roadblock
You can only get this playing as a Cop. To get this one, you need to call in a
Roadblock and at least 1 of the Racers need to hit it. The Roadblock units will
usually tell you if one of the Racers hit it. The first event you are able to
use Roadblocks in is 'Block Buster'
30. Shock to the System: Successful use of EMP
You can get this Trophy by playing as a Racer or a Cop, since both are able to
use this weapon. To get it, you need hit a Cop or a Racer using the EMP. The
first events featuring this weapon are 'Denial of Service' (Cop) and 'Beauty
and the Beasts' (Racer).
31. Hit Confirmed: Successful use of Spike Strip
This Trophy can also be earned on either side of Career. To get this, you need
to have a Cop or a Racer hit a Spike Strip you dropped. The first events that
allow you to use Spike Strips are 'Breach of the Peace' (Racer) and 'Fighting
Dirty' (Cop).
32. Aerial Assistance: Successful use of Helicopter
This Trophy is only available on the Cop side of Career. To get this one, you
need to have a Racer hit a Spike Strip that was laid by the Helicopter. If the
hit doesn't Bust them, it will say "Aerial Hit Confirmed" on the screen; if it
does, it will cut away to the Racer running over the Spike Strip and spinning.
The first event that has Helicopters is 'Eye in the Sky'.
33. Denied: Successful use of Jammer
This Trophy is only available playing as a Racer. Jammers will temporarily
render Cops unable to use weapons, as well as knocking out their mini-map. It
is also useful if a Cop is targeting you with an EMP, as it will cut their
weapon and they will no longer be able to target you
34. In the Zone: Successful use of Turbo
This Trophy is only available playing as a Racer. Turbo will give you an
instant boost of speed, which will allow you to get away from any Cops trying
to take you out
35. Eye of the Needle: As a Racer drove through a Roadblock without hitting it
As it says, you need to be a Racer to get this Trophy. This is easier to get
earlier on, before the Cops upgrade their Roadblocks. There will be a spot
between two of the cars that is just a barricade. Drive through it and the
Trophy will pop-up shortly after
36. Share the Joy: Shared a Dreamshot of a BMW with your Friends
This one can be earned at the same time as "Share the Dream". You can use a
Dreamshot of a BMW to earn both at the same time, but if you already have
"Share the Dream", do the same thing, except make sure that there is BMW in the
shot. It is easier if you are driving the BMW
37. Shaken, Not Stirred: Won a Hot Pursuit in an Aston Martin
This can be done in either Career. If you choose to do it as a Racer, you will
have to finish first. If you choose to do it as a Cop, Bust all the Racers. You
will need to be in at least the Super Series events or Rapid Deployment Unit
events
38. Wet in the Vette: Drove a Corvette in the Wet
Somewhat self-explanatory. Once you have a Corvette unlocked, pick any event
that it is either raining or wet in it, which is signified by 3 Drops as the
weather. The Trophy will pop-up once you finish the event.
Silver Trophies (10)
--------------------
1. Ultimate Enforcer: Promoted to Ultimate Enforcer
Ultimate Enforcer is Rank 20, and to get there, you will need to rack up
2,000,000 Cop Bounty. You will have to go back and redo events to earn the
Bounty necessary. I would recommend Hot Pursuits, since you can earn upwards of
20,000 per Distinction
2. Most Wanted: Wanted Level is Most Wanted
Most Wanted is Rank 20, and to get there, you will need to rack up 2,000,000
Racer Bounty. You will have to go back and redo events to earn the Bounty
necessary. I would recommend 'Seacrest Tour', due to it's length, you can rack
up a hefty chunk of Bounty.
3. Power Spike: Spike Strip hit a car who was targeting you with an EMP
This one is somewhat self-explanatory. You just have to make sure that the car
that hits the Spike Strip was the one targeting you with the EMP. On occasion,
multiple cars may target you at once, making it a little easier to get the hit
since you have an extra target to aim for. This can be done in either Career.
4. Imprezive: Accumulate 2,000 yards of drift in a single event using the
Subaru Impreza WRX STI
This can be done in either Career. In the Cop Career, I would recommend
'Lightning Reflex'. In the Racer Career, I would recommend 'Title Fight'
5. Flight of the Bumblebee: Won 'Muscle Reflex' in a Bee Yellow Chevrolet
Camaro SS
Muscle Reflex is the first Performance Series event that you will do after
unlocking Performance Series events. The Bee Yellow paint color is the second
choice from the left. Win the race and the Trophy will pop-up afterwards.
6. Godzilla: Get any medal in 'Run to the Hills' driving the Nissan GT-R SpecV
without using weapons
You will first need to earn 543,000 Cop Bounty to unlock this car. Once you
have, go to East Gorge Canyon and start 'Run to the Hills'. Take down at least
4 racers without using any weapons at all, and this Trophy will pop-up at the
end
7. Iron Man: Get Distinction in a Hot Pursuit, Interceptor, and Rapid Response
using the Audi R8.
The Audi R8 is the last car in the Rapid Deployment Unit that you will unlock,
at 843,000 Cop Bounty. You will then need to earn Distinction in one of each of
the three Cop event types. The only Rapid Deployment Hot Pursuit that the Audi
R8 can compete in is 'Run to the Hills'
8. Electrically Charged: Bust the Porsche 918 Spyder using an EMP in 'Porsche
Patrol'
'Porsche Patrol' is one of the first Rapid Deployment events you will do. The
918 Spyder will most likely be the last car that you bust. The 918 Spyder is a
grey car that will have the exhaust pipes on the side of the car. You have 6
EMPs in that event so the simple solution would be to rough everyone up and
take them all out with an EMP
9. Snakebite in Black: Spike a Cop while driving a Black Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR
or Ford Shelby GT500 Supersnake
Relatively straight-forward, all you have to do is Spike a Cop in a Hot Pursuit
while driving one of the listed cars painted black. The GT500 Supersnake is a
Super Series car and the Viper SRT10 ACR is an Exotic Series car.
10. Midnight Cowboy: Dreamshot a Midnight Blue Metallic Ford GT at night in the
desert.
The Ford GT is one of the earlier-unlocked Exotic cars. Once you get to the
event 'Born in the USA', pick the Ford GT, with the Midnight Blue Metallic
paint job (second choice from left), and then take a picture of it during the
event.
Gold Trophies (2)
-----------------
1. True Blue: Earn Distinction in every single-player Cop mission
Self-explanatory. There are 48 Cop events across the five vehicle classes
2. Golddigger: Earn a Gold Medal in every single-player Racer event
Self-explanatory. There are 60 Racer events across the five vehicle classes
