NEOGEO Station to fill PSN with arcade classics later this month
SNK Playmore ressurecting its Neo Geo library for the PS3 and PSP
SNK Playmore is giving PlayStation owners the gift of sweet, sweet retro gaming with the launch of its NEOGEO Station on the PSN later this month.
In recognition of its 20th anniversary, the veteran Japanese publisher and developer will introduce a Neo Geo emulation portal featuring slew of classic titlesincluding King of Fighters '94, Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown, Metal Slug, and Alpha Mission 2. All games will be ported to PSN in their original 1990s state, with zero graphical enhancements and all the original bugs left in for purists. They will, however, feature functionalenhancements in the form of network multiplayer modes, an instant save feature, areset option for the aforementioned bugs,and a sound player mode that will allow players to pumpout the classictunes on their PS3s or PSPs.
NEOGEOStation will be available in the US on December 21, with games priced at $8.99 for the PS3 and $6.99 for the PSP. European and Japanese launches are scheduled to follow on December 22.
