New Batman: Arkham City trailer kicks criminal ass and has a sly dig at Splinter Cell

By George Clooney’s rock hard bat nipples are we ever pumped for Batman: Arkham City. While a full trailer for Rocksteady’s Asylum sequel will be revealed at Saturday’s VGAs, the developer has let a new teaser trailer briefly sneak its way out of Gotham’s crime-plagued back alleys.

We’ll concede it’s a bit of a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ job. But seriously, what a blinking ace job of teasing us it’s done. The moody lighting, quick editing and brutal, unfussy choreography remind us of the Dark Knight’s introduction in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins.

Also, how much did the dude in the green goggles above remind you of a certain sneaky Cell of the Splinter variety?

Above: Hmmm, there's something familiar about the dude on the right

If Bats beating the bejesus out of Jimmy Goggles wasn’t a playful dig at Sam Fisher’s Splinter Cell series, we’d be surprised.

Above: Sam can get his sneak on, no doubt. But he ain't no match for the Batman's brand of lycra-clad justice
