New Comic-Con poster for The Expendables 2

The Expendables 2 has released a cool new poster ahead of the film's panel at Comic-Con this week, and there's a palpable whiff of B-movie about it's design.

Showing the primary cast of gun-toting hardmen against a backdrop of explosion-based mayhem, it looks like the kind of poster you'd see outside a scuzzy grindhouse cinema as part of an OTT action double-bill. Which kind of makes sense, given that the film is basically a very glossy B-movie.

In fact, we'd go as far as to say that this is our favourite poster for the film so far. Terry Crews looks the most at home, firing off his hand cannon with an expression that was born to grace such a trashy one-sheet.

The Expendables 2
sees the crew of mercenaries attempting to thwart Jean-Claude Van Damme's nefarious plutonium-based plot, while running through as many cheeseball one-liners as they can squeeze into the one mission. "I now pronounce you man and knife" is our current favourite.

Directed by Simon West, The Expendables 2 will open in the UK on 16 August 2012, with the film's Comic-Con panel taking place this Thursday. Expect Arnold anecdotes aplenty...
