New Conan a mystery
Just who will play the goliath?
With production on Marcus Nispel’s Conan reboot prepped to begin in March in Bulgaria, it seems like the remake-happy director is finally getting close to casting his lead.
A report over at Deadline Hollywood confirms that the two main guys in the running so far have been Kellan Lutz (from the Twilight Saga ) and Jason Momoa (Ronan in Stargate: Atlantis , below).
But now it seems that Lionsgate are keen to land a more experienced actor for the part.
DA report: “Last weekend, it seemed like things came down to two buff finalists: Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen in the Twilight Saga sequels New Moon and Eclipse ), and Jason Momoa (Ronon Dex in the TV series Stargate: Atlantis ).
“Suddenly, Millennium and partner Lionsgate decided today to look at another unnamed but better established actor before deciding.”
So who could fit the bill? Whoever it is, they’ll probably have to be pretty bulked-up already, considering they only have two months ‘til shooting begins.
Umm... Vin Diesel? Dwayne Johnson? Stone Cold Steve Austin? Your guess is as good as ours...
