New Fire Emblem coming to 3DS
Fire Emblem's fine and all, but the burden of leadership should really be heavier, don't you think? Nintendo does - that's why the latest title in the series will let players make decisions with an even grander influence on their party members and the world around them.
Nintendo revealed the 3DS game, which it's currently referring to as "The Latest in the Fire Emblem Series", in its Nintendo Direct presentation this morning. Development is once again being led by Intelligent Systems. As you can probably tell from the images, it features character designs by Yusuke Kozaki, who also worked on Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Aside from the promise of bigger and more frequent decisions, Nintendo revealed few gameplay details. One little change I noticed from Fire Emblem: Awakening is that characters who enter combat seem to remain on the same battle map, where their allies cheer them on from a distance - instead of entering a generic battle arena.
Nintendo didn't announce a release date for the new Fire Emblem, but stick around here and I'll be sure to let you know as soon as I do.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
