New images and first clip from Life Of Pi: watch now

Life Of Pi has launched a brand new website featuring a wealth of cool new material, including several stylised images and a first piece of footage, in which Richard Parker the tiger makes his presence felt.

The new pics are a set of woozy, painting-like images that give a good impression of the lush visuals director Ang Lee will be employing for this one. However, the star of the show is undoubtedly the on-screen bow of Richard Parker...

The clip is only ten seconds long, but it shows the tiger in all his glory, an entirely CGI creation who appears fairly believable from the brief glance we get of him here. He also looks suitably fearsome, should anyone be foolish enough to cross him.

Take a look at the new clip, below...

Adapted from Yann Martel's award-winning novel, the film will follow the exploits of Pi (Suraj Sarma), a sixteen-year-old boy who is emigrating to the USA with his zookeeper parents, when their cargo ship is wrecked and Pi finds himself adrift in a lifeboat with only a hyena, zebra, orang-utan and tiger for company. And it isn’t long before its only Pi and the tiger...

Starring Tobey Maguire, Irrfan Khan, Adil Hussain and Gerard Depardieu, Life Of Pi opens in the UK on 21 December 2012. In the meantime, you can check out the new images below...
