New images from Les Misrables
Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe get into costume
Les Misérables has released a raft of new images, featuring Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe looking resplendent in their 19th Century get-up.
The new images show the two leading men as Valjean and Javert respectively, the former a paroled prisoner in search of redemption, the latter the police inspector who dedicates his life to his re-imprisonment. As their story plays out, the two become embroiled in the June Rebellion of 1832, a conflict that turned Paris into a veritable war-zone.
The new images also gives us a look at Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, the beautiful young woman who Valjean takes under his wing, and Eddie Redmayne as Marius, the student revolutionary with whom she falls in love.
There’s also a new shot of a distinctly made-under Anne Hathaway, who appears as Fantine, a downtrodden factory worker and the mother of Cosette. She couldn’t look much less like Catwoman if she tried...
Les Misérables opens in the UK on 11 January 2013. You can take a look at the new set of images, below...
