New images from Wreck-It Ralph
Including some ace video-game cameos
Wreck-It Ralph , Disney’s latest foray into the world of animation, has released a new set of official stills featuring a couple of excellent cameos from well-loved video-game characters.
The pick of the bunch has to be the image of a cavernous atrium featuring not only our first look at Ralph himself (voiced by John C. Reilly), but also a host of references to all manner of classic video-games.
On the right of the image you can see Street Fighter ’s Chun-Li and Zhangief sharing a few words, while Q-Bert can also be seen knocking around, alongside references to the likes of Pac-Man and Burger Time .
The film follows Ralph’s endeavours to break out of his stock villain role into playing the hero, an opportunity that comes his way sooner rather than later, when he puts every game in his arcade at risk from a debilitating virus.
Directed by Futurama stalwart Rich Moore, and boasting supporting vocal work from Jack McBrayer, Sarah Silverman and Jane Lynch, we’ve got high hopes that this will be a humorous geek fest for gamers of a certain age. Wreck-It Ralph opens in the UK on 15 February 2013. Check out the new images, below...
