New Iron Fist trailer introduces the explosive punching of Netflix's final Defender
Marvel and Netflix have unveiled the first full-length trailer for Iron Fist, the last remaining individual series before this new hero and Marvel’s other street-level do-gooders Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage all join forces as The Defenders. This show focuses on billionaire Danny Rand (Finn Jones), who survived a plane crash that killed his parents when he was a child. After spending fifteen years training in the ways of martial arts, Rand returns to New York City and attempts to regain control of his family’s company. (Definitely some shades of Batman Begins in there.)
This trailer shows us our best look yet at martial arts expert Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) and the deviously scheming Harold Meachum (David Wenham), as well as a brief look at Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho) and The Hand organization from Daredevil. And what would a Marvel/Netflix series be without Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), the nurse who ties all of these shows together? Most importantly, though, the trailer delivers what fans were really hoping to see from an Iron Fist show: kick-ass hand-to-hand fight sequences, some awesome swordplay, and the explosive power of Rand’s Iron Fist.
The first full 13 episode season of Iron Fist arrives on Netflix on March 17, 2017 at 12:01am PT.
