New King of Fighters XIII trailer shows game now coming out in late November
2D fighter once planned for October slips to the most competitive month of the year
Lately we’ve seen title after title leaving the incredibly crowded November release calendar for the safer, more open early 2012, so it’s pretty rare to see the reverse happen. Originally the console version of SNK’s newest arcade fighter was planned for a late October release. Now the most recent trailer confirms that US publisher Atlus will be putting out the game November 22.
It’s a gutsy move, as the first three weeks of November are typically the busiest release weeks of the gaming year, with this November looking insane. Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Halo Anniversary, Super Mario 3D Land, Sonic Generations, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, and about 900 other games will be hitting store shelves, making it’s easy to imagine the more niche fighter getting lost in the mix. Are the SNK faithful out there still planning on picking this up, or will your wallets be empty by then?
