Although Mafia 3's New Bordeaux is loosely based on New Orleans, it is in fact a fictional city with fictional history. I think that's the only way I can take comfort after watching this new trailer for the upcoming crime game, because it seems like an awful place to live:
I like that each district is visually unique and clearly has its own history and culture. The French Ward is the most appealing, but then, I'm a terrible person.
No matter where you go though, violence seems sure to follow. After all, it would seem that if a neighborhood isn't actively engaged in knife fights and drive-bys in the middle of the day, it's just hiding its ugliness under a veneer of niceness. Can't we all just get along?
Actually, scratch that. I don't think something along the lines of The Andy Griffith Show: The Video Game would be much fun. Please, continue to crime, Mafia 3.
