Luther

Plot: The adventures of badass London cop Luther (Idris Elba) may have come to a close on the small screen, but that isn’t stopping him breaking out on the big screen. The Butterfly Effect
Director: TBC
Cast: TBC
Genre: Sci-Fi Drama
Plot: We'll be honest - we weren't expecting this one. Two naff straight-to-DVD sequels aside, 2004's time-travelling, parallel universe-spawning sci-fi thriller was a fun but throwaway romp. And now New Line are reportedly lining up original co-screenwriter Eric Bress to draft up a reboot of the tale of a man with the power to travel back in time to inhabit - and rewrite - his life's memories.

Army of Darkness 2
Director: TBC
Cast: Bruce Campbell
Genre: Comedy Horror
Plot: The long-awaited sequel to the ludicrously fun and bonkers Army of Darkness is coming - or at least, so says star Bruce Campbell who revealed he's on board the project at Wizard World Nashville Comic Con. Throw in the comments that Fede Alvarez said Sam Raimi's already begun work on a script, and you can start to get very, very excited.

It's A Wonderful Life 2

Genre : Drama
Plot: A much, much, much-belated sequel to the perennial Christmas classic, this follow-up to Frank Capra's Oscar-winning movie has been written by Martha Bolton and will catch up with George Bailey's (Jimmy Stewart) grandson, who encounters an angel years after his grandfather did. The film's scheduled for a Christmas 2015 release.

Viva La Madness
Director : TBC
Cast : Jason Statham
Genre : Crime drama
Plot: Britain's toughest tough guy - yes, Jason Statham - is stepping into the role played by Daniel Craig in Layer Cake in this sequel to Matthew Vaughn's gritty crime caper. Based on JJ Connolly's same-named novel (which he's adapted for the screen), the film resurrects the unnamed bad guy made famous by Craig for another grubby jaunt. No director attached as yet, though with Vaughn off making The Secret Service we can probably count him out.

Saw 8
Director : TBC
Cast : TBC
Genre : Horror
Plot : If you thought Jigsaw's work was done, you obviously don't know Jigsaw very well. Despite the fact that Saw 3D was trumpeted as the last in the deadly-game-playing franchise, Lionsgate has kicked off development on a new Saw . No word on plot yet, but it's a pretty safe bet that there will be even more body-decimating booby traps involved... Plus that creepy guy on a bike. Wanna play a game?

The Jungle Book

Jon Favreau is directing the film for Disney, the studio that famously first animated Kipling's story in 1967, with Street Fighter writer Justin Marks penning the script.

Triplets
Director : TBC
Cast : Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito
Genre : Comedy
Plot : If you've ever wondered why a sequel to Twins was never made, it's probably because they couldn't come up with an idea as brilliant as Triplets before now.
Set years after the '80s original, Triplets will follow Schwarzenegger and DeVito's mismatched bros as they discover they have a third sibling in the unlikely form of (possibly) Eddie Murphy.

Justice League Dark
Director: Guillermo del Toro
Cast: TBC
Genre: Superhero Horror
Plot: Sure, it's not even officially greenlit, but that doesn't mean we're not super excited about it. Guillermo del Toro gives near monthly updates at the moment on his desire to write and direct a fantastical take on the DC Universe's darker and more horrific take on the classic superhero mega-team. What we do know is that it'd include classic comic characters like Constantine, Swamp Thing, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Zantanna and more - but, more crucially, the chances of it being greenly are tied very closely into the success of Man of Steel .
