New Outland trailer: Ikaruga meets Shadow of the Colossus meets Patapon meets Tron
Red vs. blue hits a crazy new level
The idea, as in Icky, is that enemies and their bullets have two different polarities, in this case red and blue. You can switch your own polarity between the two at will. Matching a bullet nullifies the damage it does, but matching an enemy makes your own attacks fairly useless. Thus it's a case of constant chopping and changing, risk and reward in order to make it through. But is it a worthy descendant of its hardcore grandad?Personally Ithink it looks rather good. Take a look and tell me what you think.
Okay, so the gravelly voiceover is as generic as a sandwich made of bread, but I really like the Incan influence in the art, and the contrast of stark silouettes and throbbing psychadelia is seriously striking. It looks like Outland's devs are exploring the colour-switching concept in some sharp and creative ways too, so right now you can count me very much in. Whadda yareckon?
