New poster for The Raven
John Cusack spreads his wings
Relativity Media has released a new poster for period thriller The Raven , in which John Cusack plays the master of the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe.
The new poster shows Cusack striding purposefully towards the camera, accompanied by the laughably macho tag-line, “John Cusack IS Edgar Allan Poe.” Never did we think we’d see a nineteenth century author’s name used in such an aggressive fashion!
That said, the new artwork is pretty eyecatching, the blood-red wings creating a tangible sense of menace. The title logo is pretty cool as well.
The film sees Cusack’s Poe become embroiled in the hunt for a serial killer when it emerges that the killer is drawing inspiration from the author’s more grisly pieces of work.
Co-starring Alice Eve, Brendan Gleeson and Luke Evans, The Raven was recently pushed back a month by Relativity, and is now expected to arrive in UK cinemas on 9 March 2012.
