New red-band trailer for The Dictator

The Dictator has released a new red-band trailer featuring a new set of controversy-baiting antics from Sacha Baron Cohen.

The film sees Cohen star as Middle Eastern despot General Aladeen, who embarks upon a state visit to the United States, before realising he has fallen into a trap. Stripped of his beard and cut loose in New York, he gets a job with Anna Faris’s store owner, and sets about establishing himself in the land of the free.

The new trailer includes a handful of new comedy set-pieces, including Aladeen’s assistance in the delivery of a baby and an extended version of the helicopter sequence.

Take a look at the new teaser below…

We still reckon the funniest moments are when Aladeen is interacting with the customers at his new job, the scene in which he kicks a little boy to the floor being the pick of the bunch.

UPDATE: And if the red-band trailer wasn't enough for you, we've also received this footage of General Aladeen attending a press conference in New York this weekend. Check it out:

The Dictator opens in UK cinemas on 16 May 2012. Fans of political correctness might want to give it a wide berth…
