Producer enthuses about the look of the new Dwarf series
In an exclusive interview in the new SFX – on sale tomorrow – producer Charles Armitage explains, “We’ve got no Red Dwarf ship because it fell off the shelf; we’ve got no sets, they’ve all been destroyed.”
So that meant starting again.
“Everything is being built here at Shepperton,” explains Armitage. “There are workshops full of Red Dwarf sets. We’ve got a brilliant designer, Michael Ralph, who did the last series of Primeval , and my feeling is the sets will very much become the fifth star.”
So will the show look like it did before?
“It’s not a copy. There are lots of new parts to it – everything has been started from scratch – but you’ll know the roots of it.”
