New Sly 2 screens sneak into view
Sly and his band of thieves are back for more cel-shaded robbery
Sony have released a handful of new screens of Sly 2: Band of Thieves, the sequel to last year's action-adventure which, we're promised, will feature "innovative character designs, pumped up toon-shaded animation, interactive environments and spectacular graphics".
This time round, Sly, Bentley, Murray and a cast of new characters have to work together to pull off a string of major heists. In between an episodic storyline that apparently mirrors the suspense-filled plots of the best heist films, the gameplay itself is entirely non-scripted, allowing you to roam the streets, make your way on to rooftops, steal priceless objects and discover underground hideouts.
Gadgets include updated binocucoms for each character, parachutes, ice axes and spy cams while improved AI means enemies now swarm, call in their cohorts and behave more intelligently, providing players with (it says here) more challenging gameplay.
Sly 2: Band of Thieves is due to be released for PlayStation 2 during winter 2004/2005
