This new Star Wars 1313 trailer doesn't feel very... Star Wars-y (but that's no bad thing)

As this year's Gamescom begins to get its German sausage on (don't know what that even means), so the first new trailers steadily begin to appear. The latest video delight being for LucasArts' bounty-hunting adventure Star Wars 1313. Digest it immediately through your eyeballs:

The footage is mostly from the various E3 2012 trailers, but I'm pretty sure *some* of it is new. If not, please accept my apologies and go about your business. Move along.

Perhaps it's the blink-and-you-miss-it pace at which the footage has been ruthlessly edited, but with the exception of the surface shots of Coruscant the trailer isn't particularly evocative of the Star Wars universe. It could easily be for any game set on some make believe planet in some make believe galaxy.

But this disassociation from established Star Wars scene-setters - rousing theme music, any recognisable characters, the unmistakeable sounds of a lightsaber or Vader's heavy breathing - makes Star Wars 1313 a much more intriguing prospect. I'll take the fertile creative ground of the expanded universe's farthest reaches over another Force Unleashed any day of the week.

We still don't know when Star Wars 1313 is going to be released or even if it's going to be coming to current or next-gen consoles (or both). But we do know that we saw it at E3 2012 and we wrote this Star Wars 1313 preview about it.

I don't have the energy to really hate anything properly. Most things I think are OK or inoffensively average. I do love quite a lot of stuff as well, though.
