Warcraft is, at its core, a video game series about orcs (and the horde they lead) vs humans (and the alliance they serve). Warcraft the movie is also about those things, but it has the added… uh… benefit? Of modern technology. Like dubstep music, as heard in the new trailer for the upcoming film.
As a Warcraft fan, I'm going to try not let this dash my hopes about the film. The action still looks great, and you even get a bit of humor sprinkled in. Plus, dwarves! Who doesn't like dwarves? Besides, the creative team behind a movie often have little to no say in how the flick is advertised, so I feel like I can't get mad at director Duncan Jones and his crew. For all we know, someone said "zug zug" and someone on the marketing team thought they said "wub wub."
Directed by Duncan Jones and starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, and Ben Schnetzer, Warcraft: The Beginning opens in UK cinemas June 3, 2016 and in the US on June 10, 2016.
