Next-gen Kinect screen shown off by purported Durango seller
We're still not sure
There's been a story floating around the gaming industry for the past few weeks in which a game developer is claiming to have an Xbox 720 development kit (codenamed Durango) and is attempting to sell it for $10,000. Today, the story got a little more interesting as he tweeted ascreenshotof what is allegedly a next-gen Kinect in action.
We've been holding off on reporting on this story for weeks because we're just not sure what to believe. On one hand, developers known to be working with Durango have said that his pictures of the device are genuine. However, to us this does not preclude the possibility that a talented programmer/photoshoppeur who is familiar with the device could have made a mock-up to make a quick $10K.
The reason for our skepticism is the guy's twitter feed where he posts the shots: @superdae. For starters, his avatar is softcore furry porn. He also tends to tweet racist and homophobic slurs, and pictures of glasses full of absynthe. He's not exactly a portrait of credibility.
The full picture of the purported Kinect device can be found below. Let us know what you think, because we're honestly dying to know.
