Next Planet Of The Apes sequel gets a new title
The next Planet Of The Apes sequel has a new title, with Collider reporting that Matt Reeves forthcoming film will be entitled War Of The Planet Of The Apes.
As the report mentions, Caesar’s closing sentiments of the last film would seem to fit quite nicely with the new title. “War has… already begun,” says the leader of the apes. “Ape started war. And human… human will not forgive.” Sounds like he was right…
It certainly seems as though the next film is going to be on a grander scale than the previous two, with the plot presumably building towards either glorious domination by Caesar’s apes, or a reassertion of human control over the earth. Either way, it promises to be quite the spectacle.
War Of The Planet Of The Apes will open in the US on 14 July 2017. A UK date has yet to be officially confirmed.
