Nic Cage stars in first trailer for The Runner
The first trailer has appeared online for political drama The Runner, in which Nic Cage's Louisiana Congressman Colin Price takes on the oil lobby when he sees the negative impact of the BP oil spill on his constituents.
Price is all ready to assume the mantle of crusading eco hero, but unfortunately for him his private life comes into play. It's much harder to play the white knight when you become embroiled in a camera-captured sex scandal...

This looks like one of Cage's more subdued performances, and while we do enjoy seeing him rant and rave, he looks to be on fine form in this one. Even his hair seems relatively downbeat… Directed by Austin Stark and co-starring Sarah Paulson, Connie Nielsen and Wendell Pierce, The Runner will open in the US on 7 August 2015 with a UK date to be confirmed.
