As far as unlikely sequels go, Nier 2 ranks pretty highly. First teased as part of Square Enix's E3 2015 press conference, the game now has an official title, plot details, and a gameplay trailer. Dubbed "Nier: Automata," the game will star a blindfolded, skirt-wearing android from the moon named YoRHa No. 2 Type-B (but you can call her "2B") as she fights robots that look straight out of a '50s sci-fi movie in an effort to take back Earth for humanity.
Oh I'm sorry, did I not mention that Nier is known for being kinda weird? Cuz it's kinda weird. But if you'd rather not worry about all the awkwardly-named details, just know that the gameplay looks buttery-smooth and full of slick, over-the-top melee combat.
Nier: Automata has no official release window yet, but is in development for PlayStation 4.
