NiGHTS still on track for 2007
New trailer and release schedule still defy slip rumour
September 3, 2007
Rumours have been circulating recently concerning Sega's forthcoming Wii title NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams and a potential slip into 2008. However, official evidence is still pointing to the contrary. A bang up-to-date release schedule we received from Sega today still features the game under the 'Winter 2007' section. And then there's this...
This new Japanese trailer for the game shows a clear '2007 Winter' release. Obviously, that date applies to Japan and not everywhere else, but if it is true, it at least means the game isn't behind schedule in terms of being finished this year.
Incidentally, in case you were wondering what was going on with the music, it's called 'Dreams Dreams' and was featured in the first NiGHTS game from 1996. If you finished the game with good enough grades, you got this version of the song, sung by adults instead of the kids' version that was usually heard. Believe us, if you think the version here is cringeworthy, then you really don't want to hear that one. Still, both are infinitely better than the frankly atrocious a capella version.
When we contacted Sega about the release date, we were told there was 'no comment at this time'. Of course, we'd rather see a perfect NiGHTS game than a rushed-out version. Especially as it's been 12 years since the last one...
