Nintendo to reveal Wii racer
New game set for E3 conference unveiling
Tuesday 2 May 2006
A new racing game for Wii will be unveiled during Nintendo's E3 press conference, so says the company's executive vice president of sales and marketing, Reggie Fils-Aime.
While speaking at the Nintendo World Store last week, Reggie let slip that this new game would be used to demonstrate just how the Wii controller would work with racing games, stating that it would require it being used in a "very different way".
Unfortunately there is no clue as to what the game will actually be, but this hasn't stopped speculation mounting that it could be a next-gen addition to the Excitebike series which last appeared on N64.
The much acclaimed motocross game would fit the bill as a high quality, first-party racing game, but that could also describe GameCube's Waverace as well. Fortunately we won't have long to wait as Nintendo's press conference is less than a week away.
