If you want that red Metal Gear Solid 5 PS4 in the US, you'll need to sneak it in

The glossy red-and-gold Metal Gear Solid 5-themed PS4 is (and has been) available for pre-order if you live in the UK. If you're a fan living in the US however, you've likely been waiting for an announcement of a stateside version of the console - an announcement which, as confirmed by PlayStation's Adam Boyes yesterday, will sadly never come.

While this is undoubtedly sour news for those hoping to get the Metal Gear Solid 5 PS4 from their local GameStop, Best Buy or what-have-you, there are a couple of silver linings. First off, PS4 games are not region-locked, so a US copy of MGS5: The Phantom Pain should still work if you decide to import. Second, if you're jonesing for a themed PS4 in general and it doesn't have to be MGS-themed, there's a Darth Vader PS4 that was announced today, plus a new Destiny PS4 bundle on the way.

And if all else fails, there's always decals that can turn your PS4 into anything from a shoebox to an original PlayStation.
