Olivier Megaton on Taken 2: video interview
The director on cutting for a 12A, and the possibility of Taken 3
Taken 2 hits cinemas this week, and sees Liam Neeson return for another rip-roaring rampage of revenge.
Below, we talk to incumbent director Olivier Megaton about taking the reins on the Liam Neeson-starring franchise.
The action sequel drew controversy from fans of the original for softening the action for a 12A certificate, and Megaton talks candidly about cutting the film for a wider audience: “We knew that the MPAA was waiting for us… I don’t know what you can show and cannot show.”
He also talks about releasing a tougher cut of Taken 2 on DVD, and rules himself out of directing Taken 3 (claiming that Neeson probably isn’t interested in a threequel either).
