Orange Box updated to lag-free edition
Xbox 360 version of Team Fortress 2 finally gets patch to fix online lag, among other things
Oct 29, 2007
Valve has released its promised Orange Box Xbox 360 patch, which apparently fixes the crippling lag owners have been complaining about since release.
The vast majority of complaints stemmed from gamers trying to participate in 6v6 or 8v8 matches, where "connection to host lost" messages become common place.
The new patch - which should stream down your internet wire the next time you boot up the game - reduces network bandwidth usage, improves overall game performance and tinkers with the matchmaking to apparently make ranked games much easier to find. It's all gravy then, baby.
The PC version appears to be unaffected, and you can check out our review of that righthere.
Above: If this weren't a still-screen you could tell how much smoother Team Fortress is running with the new patch
