Oscar gets animated
10 entries make up the long list for the Academy Awards Best Animated Film category
The people who pick the Oscars have announced their long list for the Best Animated Film. And, as expected, Britain’s own Wallace & Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit has made it.
The category has been activated because the number of films eligible for the award meets the basic rules - there must be more than eight, but less than 16 for the nomination process to begin.
Once the category has been whittled down, the nominations will be announced on 31 January. Aardman’s plasticine pals will be going up against the likes of Disney’s Chicken Little and Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride.
Here’s the complete list:
Chicken Little
Gulliver's Travel
Hoodwinked
Howl's Moving Castle
Madagascar
Robots
Steamboy
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
Valiant
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
