Oscar watch: Coens dominate online awards
No Country scoops more kudos…
As we draw ever closer to the Academy Awards - in whatever form they end up taking, be it hobbled press conference form as with the Golden Globes or full of thesps in gowns and penguin suits – certain trends become so evident that they might as well be running up to us and happy slapping us right in the mush.
The Online Film Critics Society has announced their winners and, once more, No Country For Old Men has emerged as top dog, nabbing six awards including Best Picture and Best Director. Also to our complete lack of surprise, There Will Be Blood’s Daniel Day Lewis took Best Actor and Julie Christie’s performance in Away From her earned her a gong.
Variety has the full awards list here . And, confusingly, the Society itself has an awards page, but has yet to list the 2008 winners. Check that out here .
