Our videogame Christmas cards, rated
We mercilessly judge the papery gifts kindly sent to us by the gaming industry, like big rotten children
Best wishes from... 2K Games
Simple, but effective. This pretty offering from 2K wouldn't look out of place next to Uncle Jim's traditional nativity scene offering. Nice use of lions, too.
Visuals |8 |There's not a lot going on, but it sure looks nice, don't it?
Festiveness |8 |It's a Christmas tree, you see? With baubles. And, er, lions...
Composition |8 | A cleverly weaved symmetrical image, and very nice on the eyes
Effort |8 | Someone's spent a while on Babelfish getting all those translations done
Score: 8
Above: 2K Games (left) and Activision (right)
Best wishes from... Activision
Now, we hope Activision doesn't take this the wrong way. After all, we like getting cards. But what's the point of writing the game names on there? We'd deserve nothing less than a quick sacking if we couldn't recognise these brands. Unless... You're not sneakily using a Christmas card as an advertising board, are you Activision?
Visuals | 7 | Nice use of the baubles, but it all looks a bit squashed, to be honest
Festiveness | 7 | The balls are the only thing Christmassy - there's not even a greeting!
Composition | 7 | We can see what Activision is doing here, and it's okay. We guess
Effort | 7 | Some nice blending going on, but it's hardly a bespoke Christmas image
